Happy Russian Students’ Day!

On January 25, 1755, Empress Elizabeth signed a decree founding the very first university in Russia. Since then, the day is celebrated throughout the country as the Students’ Day.

In Russia, January 25th is also celebrated as Tatiana’s Day, in honour of Saint Tatiana of Rome. Therefore, Saint Tatiana has gained the status of Patron Saint of students in Russia.

Russia is one of the world’s major hubs for international education. V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University prides itself on being a home from home for over two thousand international students from fifty-four countries, who celebrate this traditional Russian holiday together with their Russian peers.

We sincerely believe that the years in Crimea will be a happy and fruitful experience for our international students, and that they’ll graduate from Vernadsky CFU equipped to succeed in their lives.

We hope that at our university they’ll make reliable friends for live and learn invaluable knowledge and skills that will set them up for a bright future.
