A round table, which brought together numerous students, researchers and representatives of various government bodies, was held at the Vernadsky CFU’s Office of International Affairs.
During the round table, participants discussed the ways to counter terrorist ideology.
Highlights of the event included a keynote speech by First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Information Policy, Professor Sergei Iurchenko, as well as contributions from Elena Gubanova, Director of the Vernadsky CFU’s Coordination Centre, on the denunciation by the Russian Federation of the European Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism, and Maksimilian Shepelev, Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Vernadsky CFU’s Taurida Academy, on state terrorism in the policies of Western countries.
The event was aimed at facilitating an open and constructive exchange of views and opinions among its participants and developing a set of recommendations that would allow the university to carry out the tasks of countering terrorism and other negative socio-political phenomena in a safe and efficient way.
