Water lilies bring beauty to ponds at university’s botanical garden

Magnificent water lilies are in full bloom throughout the ponds at N.V. Bagrov Botanical Garden of Vernadsky CFU’s Taurida Academy. The collection of water plants in various ponds features both old and new varieties of nymphaea.

Their long extending leaf stalks and large distinctly shaped leaves float on the water and provide wonderful shade and shelter to ornamental fish, turtles, moorhens and ducks with ducklings in the ponds. It is one of the most picturesque collections in the garden.

The water lilies will continue to bloom throughout the summer and into early autumn. Visit the botanical garden and experience the sheer pleasure of seeing them spreading their leaves across the water and producing their exquisite blossoms.
