Vernadsky CFU will welcome students from Nicaragua

On November 10, Juan Ernesto Vásquez Araya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation, visited V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University and met with the university’s senior officials. The meeting was also attended by Sergey Yurchenko, Vice-Rector for International Activities and Information Policy, and Vladimir Kuryanov, Vice-Rector for Learning and Teaching.

The sides discussed the topical issue of cooperation in education, including an exchange of students between Vernadsky CFU and Nicaraguan universities.

Juan Ernesto Vásquez Araya clarified that preparatory Russian language training programmes for prospective students would constitute one of the priority lines of the Nicaraguan party’s cooperation with Vernadsky CFU. He also added that his country is most interested in training programmes in agriculture and engineering.

Over the course of the meeting the Ambassador expressed his support for the idea of developing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua and V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, which would allow for the exchange and mobility of students, staff, and researchers starting from the next year.
