The round table discussion, held at the University’s Office of International Affairs, focused on the issues related to stay and study of students from Uzbekistan in Russia, enhancing collaboration with the university’s community of students from Uzbekistan, developing friendly ties in the fields of research, culture and education, and was timed to mark Uzbekistan’s Independence Day, celebrated on September 1. In Russia, January 25th marks Tatiana’s Day, in honour of Saint Tatiana of Rome. It is also celebrated across the country as Russian Students’ Day. Back in the 18th century, on January 25, 1755 Empress Elizabeth signed a decree founding Russia’s first university, Moscow State University. Since then, Tatiana is considered patron saint of students. Read more

V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University welcomed 11 medical doctors from six African countries, who arrived to study a programme in Medicine delivered as part of the Russia – Africa Multidisciplinary Summer University Project. The programme runs until 8th September and is aimed at equipping medical professionals with new knowledge and skills in their specialist areas. Read more
